Use your ‘third eye’ while photographing flowers this time! Bring out the drama and depth of the photos of real flowers when it comes to showcasing the wonders of nature and the delicate beauty of the simplest of themes. Use careful lighting and exposure while placing your focus for the surreal blooms, snapped in all their glory. If shooting close-up then it could be interesting to play with depth of field, and to spend time really exploring the compositions that are available.

Explaining the Flower Photography Contest 

NAT PHOTO SOCIETY invites all flower photography artists from around the world to participate in an expansive showcase of enthralling floral pics. Snap blooming buds or the dancing florals that can remind you of a vibrant flamenco dancer wearing bold colored skirts, or of the untamed wildflowers captured in dreamy images, showcasing a whirlpool of hues and textured details spreading out across the frame. Snap the silent whispers of the tulips in the sunset, or the autumn flowers in full bloom, or the ethereal water lilies, transforming the fleeting beauty into art! Capture nature's poetry here with beautiful pastel highlights in the background to create magic. Let your floral clicks inspire and mesmerize the budding photo-enthusiasts!

Determination of Winners

Our panel of expert jurors decide winners and evaluate the submissions based on creativity, composition, and storytelling.

Image Specifications 

Participants for Flower Photography Contest make sure your pictures adhere to the following guidelines:

​

  • You must submit original images. Stock images are not allowed.

  • You can use any device including your smartphone to click the images.

  • You must own all images submitted, or you should have the right to represent them on behalf of the photographer.

  • Your submissions may have copyright symbols, watermarks, names, or logos but they must be faint and not hinder the jurying process. 

  • All images must be in JPG or JPEG format with a minimum quality of (90%) or higher. 

  • Make sure to resize your artistic flower pictures to 1000 pixels on the longest dimension.

  • All files must be less than 2 MB.

  • You can make basic adjustments to the images as long as they don’t alter their content. For example, adjusting contrast, exposure, dust removal, etc., is acceptable.

  • Do not make adjustments by adding or removing an element from the image. 

  • We only accept bleed photographs except for polaroids or other processes that make borders an inherent part of the image.

  • You have the widest bounds to interpret the category of this creative flower photography contest in your creative way.

Entry Fee

 

The entry fee for each image in this flower photography contest varies from $4 - $10  based on the number of entries made. For the maximum number of entries made, each image only costs $4 to enter. This is a non-refundable fee.

The breakdown is as follows:

​

$10 for 1 photo - $10/entry

$25 for up to 3 photos - $8.33/entry

$35 for up to 5 photos - $7/entry

$45 for up to 7 photos - $6.43/entry

$50 for up to 10 photos - $5/entry

$90 for up to 20 photos - $4.50/entry

$100 for up to 25 photos - $4/entry

To enter more than 25 photos, you can simply repeat the submission process.

* Cash prizes are always sent via PayPal by direct bank transfer. If a recipient doesn’t have a PayPal account, they can create one HERE. 

** Depending on the quality and quantity of submissions, additional finalists will be awarded certificates of recognition for each category.
